This is a word for the prophetic community at large. It’s time to pick up the various mantles the Lord gave you in different seasons. In Ephesians 3 verse 10, we read that:
“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to His eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
In the Amplified Bible, it translates like this:
“[The purpose is] that through the church, the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.”
Beloved GOD is always revealing His heart in a million ways. He is not just saying one thing, but He is saying so many things!
In the prophetic culture, we have a variety of mantles in the prophetic. In 1 Corinthians 12:4 we read that this variety of gifts is huge! The word for variety is “diairesis” meaning distinct and unique!
Jesus raised up leaders who could carry His mantle. The definition of a mantle is ”an important role or responsibility that passes from one person to another”.
Within this variety of gifts we must see that mantles are the way we grow into mature gifting. Mantles are distinctions of the gift.
Here is my list of prophetic mantles:
I’m not suggesting this is as a definitive list, but it is my observation of 40 years of Charismatic prophetic culture in the church.
Many prophets have a dual anointing of a couple of prophetic mantles.
These mantles are grown in different decades of prophets’ life as they intersect with different streams and different ministries.
1. Revival prophets – prepare and call the church to mobilise for revival. They feel called to heal the sick, go to the streets and ring the bells for the church to wake up and get moving.
2. National prophets – speak into the rise and fall of nations and to the building up of righteous standards over nations. National prophets carry great favour and authority.
3. Marketplace prophets – prepare, envision, and equip the church to be in the business world or influence the marketplace realm. Market place prophets carry faith.
4. Seer prophets – those who see in the realm of the 3rd heaven but also can see the demonic too and therefore have discernment and wisdom around the inroads over cities, regions, and hearts. Seer prophets have a seeing gift.
5. Visionary prophets – are like a seer but receive many dreams, pictures and pieces of the puzzle that help us piece together the plans of God. Visionary prophets have a knowing gift of what to do.
5. Visionary prophets – are like a seer but receive many dreams, pictures and pieces of the puzzle that help us piece together the plans of God. Visionary prophets have a knowing gift of what to do.
6. Oracle prophets – release words of edification, exhortation, and comfort to individuals and the church at large (both written and spoken). Oracle prophets are full of encouragement and exhortation.
7. Artistic, Worship and Minstrel prophets – draw the church to partner in creativity with and for God in a vast variety of means and including the worship prophet. These prophets love the presence and His beauty.
8. Equipping prophets – teachers of the new wineskin and 5-fold ministry. Equipping prophets bring such clarity and unique words to train and build the church in each hour of her Biblical destiny.
9. Bridal prophets – have a unique message to call us to the heart of the Bridegroom for first love fire to grow and flourish. Bridal prophets teach and model how to stay in love with Jesus.
10. Watchman and Intercession prophets- carry the travail of God’s heart for the nation. They stand by day or by night to intercede over the nations, cities and regions. These prophets are lovers of the presence and live for the presence.
11. Heart prophets – feel the emotions of God and speak His word for the heart of God to be known. They awaken the heart to church to learn how God speaks His heart to us. Some heart prophets have an anointing to heal the heart from brokenness, trauma and open spiritual inroads.
12. Justice prophets – call God’s people to remember the poor, oppressed and marginalised. They call for justice in the land and to feel the compassion of God for justice. Justice prophets are strong in their values and hopes for the marginalised and feel Gods heart deeply.
Some of you have dropped your mantles, and I feel the Lord saying to go back and pick up the specific mantles you are called to carry. This is a season of unique redefinition of your authority, anointings, and passions. Be yourself! Don’t try and emulate or copy someone else’s gift or anointing. Be you! Don’t wear someone else’s armour but be uniquely shaped by God for God.
Let go of what is not yours to carry but pick up the unique callings on your life and learn to be those who wear the garments of humility and care for His sheep and the world.
Father, we pray that in 2024, the prophetic community will hold onto each mantle’s glory and fight across streams, teams, movements, and churches to support and uphold the greater glory. We call forth the prophets in this hour who will rightly represent the heart of God for the hour. In Jesus’ Name.
